The following syllabi demonstrate the contents of our curriculum as provided by our mentors. There is central core of readings but each syllabus will be somewhat different as we encourage our mentors to choose materials, methods of discussion and participation to suit their particular students and to maximize creativity in the learning process. Individuals do not learn in the same way; a variety of approaches to the subject matter will usually result in engaging all students in working with the material. As humanists, our aims are not to inculcate a set of "right" responses to the issues at hand. Our goal is to provoke and stimulate individuals to think clearly and deeply about life's challenging questions. Our mission is to educate and train leaders who take into account all the complexities and nuances of an issue to make decisions and take actions which will have affirming consequences, not only for oneself, but for other humans, other species and the resources of our planet.
